When Will JKBOSE Declare Results for Classes 10th, 11th and 12th? Here’s What’s Causing the Delay
Srinagar, 7 Jan 2026: Thousands of students across Jammu and Kashmir continue to wait anxiously for the declaration of JKBOSE results for Classes 10th, 11th and 12th of the Annual Regular 2025 (October–November session). While earlier announcements had raised expectations of an early January declaration, the results have not yet been released, triggering confusion and speculation among students and parents.
However, official sources clarify that the delay is administrative, not academic, and that the evaluation process has already been completed.
Why Are JKBOSE Results Delayed?
According to senior officials familiar with the process, the primary reason behind the delay is a leadership vacuum in the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE).
The Board currently does not have a regular Chairman. The officer who was holding additional charge retired on December 31, 2025, leaving the Board without a statutory authority to formally approve the results.
As per Board rules, results cannot be declared unless the Result Declaration Committee (RDC) meets and formally clears them. This committee must be chaired by the JKBOSE Chairman. In the absence of a Chairman or an officer assigned additional charge, the mandatory approval process has been stalled.
Evaluation Completed, Results Ready
Officials have stressed that the delay is not due to checking, tabulation, or technical issues.
For Class 10th, the evaluation, compilation, and verification of marks are already complete. Similar progress has been made for Classes 11th and 12th. The only pending step is the formal administrative clearance required under law.
“This is purely a procedural delay. The results are ready but cannot be uploaded without statutory approval,” an official said.
What Was Said Earlier About Result Dates?
Earlier, Education Minister Sakina Itoo had stated that JKBOSE would declare the Class 10th result in the second week of January, followed by Classes 11th and 12th soon after.
Before that, the BOSE Secretary had also indicated that results would be released in a phased manner throughout January, starting with Class 10th.
The government has now assured that steps are being taken to resolve the leadership issue by assigning additional charge to a senior officer, which would allow the Result Declaration Committee to convene.
Updated Expected Timeline
Based on the latest official inputs and administrative developments, the revised tentative timeline is as follows:
- Class 10th: Likely in the second week of January 2026
- Class 12th: Expected in the third week or by the end of January 2026
- Class 11th: Likely in the last week of January or early February 2026
Officials have cautioned that exact dates will be announced only after the formal approval process is completed.
Advice for Students
Students have been strongly advised to:
- Rely only on the official JKBOSE website for result updates
- Ignore unverified dates circulating on social media
- Keep roll numbers and registration details ready
Once the administrative deadlock is resolved, the Board is expected to declare results without further delay.
For now, authorities have reiterated that the delay does not affect the validity of results and that students’ academic interests remain protected.
